Testimonials
My two boys had piano lessons with Joanne over the course of about 4 years. She took both my sons through ABRSM Exams up to Grade 2, with the younger one also doing Grade 3. She kept them motivated and enjoying playing throughout. From the first time we met her, I so appreciated her calm, warm approach. She could always talk to the boys in a fun and engaging way, never talking down to them and they responded well to her. I can’t recommend Joanne highly enough as a music teacher.
Linda, mum of 2 past students.
Joanne was an amazing teacher for me. Her method of teaching was very enjoyable, for example she would describe certain scales as “pop-overs” because of the fingering or that there were “flowers” in pieces where there were gaps in the tempo. She is overall a lovely person and I would recommend her to any student, young or old, who was interested in learning the piano with her.--Andrew, age 13.
Joanne taught me for over six years on both piano and singing and never once did I have a boring, unhelpful or unenjoyable lesson. Consistently Joanne was available to both boost my musical ability and self confidence dramatically. Prior to these lessons I had little to no musical knowledge or ability, yet due to the well structured and well thought out learning techniques, my playing and musical theory became something I was proud of whilst all the while I was having fun.
In summation, Joanne is the best teacher (of any field) I have ever had, developing me as a person and as a musician. Joanne will forever be someone I will remember as having influenced my life in an extremely positive way and a superb teacher.
Archie, age 17.
Lessons take place during weekday afternoons and early evenings. Most students benefit from weekly lessons at a fixed time as that helps with fitting things in to our busy weeks. However, there is plenty of scope for flexibility. Joanne is happy to offer advice about appropriate lesson lengths for age and ability. Similarly, please feel free to ask for advice if you are considering buying an instrument.
Lesson Fees are paid by bank transfer on a lesson by lesson basis. Fees become due on the day of the lesson booking.

Covid 19 Management and Guidance.
If any member of your family is showing symptoms of Covid 19 do not attend your lesson. Please ensure that students and any accompanying adults wash hands thoroughly before attending a lesson. Please keep the number of people entering the building to a minimum. If a sibling who is not being taught has to accompany your party, it would be preferable if they wait in a vehicle outside where possible. Masks are not compulsory but hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes will be available where needed. There must only be one family group in the building at any time. If you would ring the bell/knock then wait in your vehicle Joanne will let you know when the previous party has left and the equipment has been cleaned. Whilst in the building please try to encourage particularly younger students, to touch as little as possible. It would be helpful if the bathroom was only used in the case of absolute emergencies. If responsible adults could remind younger students before they set off to their lesson, that would helpful.
